>>> Driving Lessons - Doncaster
Pelican Driving School operates a regional network
of male and female instructors. All have graduated from our
Instructor Training Course ensuring driving lessons
of a high level of competency and a uniform standard.
Emphasis has been placed on developing their 'people' and
'communication' skills in addition to driving ability.
Our instructors take pride in the work they do and are noted
for their patience and friendly yet professional disposition.
Their aim in the lessons is to help you pass your driving
test in a time frame that is right for you and at a reasonable
cost. It is equally important to them that you become a safe
and competent driver in the process. We find this is more
easily achieved in a relaxed and stress free driving environment,
so for your comfort and safety we operate a 'no smoking' policy
during the driving lessons.
It is essential that you have a provisional
licence before you can have driving lessons and drive on the
road. If you do not have a provisional licence then you need
to apply for one. An application form can be obtained free
from any post office by asking for a form D1. You can find
more information on licences and prices by visiting the DVLA
web site.
When you receive your provisional licence you are able to
start the driving lessons. Initially you will be classified
as a learner driver and will be required to pass a driving
test to become a qualified driver.
You can start your driving lessons whilst studying for the
theory test, but you must first pass the theory test before
you can apply for the practical test. You can take a 'mock
theory' test at any time by visiting the Driving Standards
Agency web site.
The first step in learning to drive is to book
an initial driving lesson. The number of further driving lessons
will vary from person to person and will depend on how quickly
you learn. Most driving lessons are for one hour although
two hour lessons may be required if time is at a premium.
It is advisable to allow a reasonable length of time to learn
to drive and not to rush. Driving is a serious business. People
need time to be taught properly and reflect on any training
they receive. This way they become better drivers and are
more likely to pass the driving test first time. We take pride
in maintaining our high level of pass rates and will not present
you for testing unless we are confident that you have achieved
an acceptable standard during your driving lessons.
We believe that the choice of vehicle plays an important part
in the driving lesson and we have a variety of modern vehicles
available, all with dual controls.
Discounts for block booking driving
lessons, students and for the unemployed are available.
